EDZ sponsor ‘Grisedale Grind’

April sees a particularly busy month for local running club Keswick AC, with EDZ sponsoring two races which are all raising money for the needs of the local community.  On Wednesday April 13th and Wednesday 27th April, the Lord and Lady of the Forest series takes place in Whinlatter.

The first race is the steep but very short Grisedale Grind, taking in the summit of Grisedale Pike, starting from Revelin Moss car park and the second, Lords Seat, a tamer 5 fell and trail route which visits Barf and Lords Seat summits (a good one for fast competitive racing and new fell racers alike).  The majority of proceeds will be donated to local charity Amy’s Care, which offers high quality day care service for people in the local area living with dementia.  It is intended that the money raised will go towards the provision of outdoor activities for Amy’s Care’s clients so that they can enjoy the outdoors in a way that is enjoyable and suitable to their needs and capabilities.  Competitors must complete both races to qualify for the Lord and Lady of the Forest series prizes, which have been donated by EDZ.  A £50 EDZ voucher is up for grabs for the male and female winner of the series, along with a selection of other prizes for veteran categories.

Good luck to everyone taking part!
